Greenville Christmas Parade

The youth group is putting together a float for the Greenville Christmas parade. Come to the parade, support our kids, and get in the Christmas spirit!! "Good grief, it's Christmas, Charlie Brown!"

The Fence

The Fence

There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the fence. The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily, gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence.

Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper. The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone.

The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said "you have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one." You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound is still there. Make sure you control your temper the next time you are tempted to say something you will regret later.

Charlie Brown's Christmas play

In December our childrens group will present "It's a Charlie Brown Christmas". The children and parents are excited about starting this project.

At a Christian summer camp for children one of the counslers was leading a discussion on the purpose God has for all of His creations. They began to find good reasons for clouds, trees, rocks, rivers, animals and just about everything else in nature. Finally one of mthe children said "If God has a good purpose for everything, then why did He create poison ivy?" The discussion leader gulped and as he struggled with the question one of the other children came to the rescue, saying "The reason God mae poison ivy is that He wanted us to know there are certain things we should keep our cotton-pickin' hands off of!"

Fellowship Building

The church voted to go ahead with plans to build a fellowship building. 83.2% of the votes casted were in favor of going ahead with this project

study, whether you have children or not. And he needs all our
teachers there so we can learn to defend our faith and teach
others as well.

We will be making a collection of our church members favorite Bible verses as a handy reference to scripture that has inspired, lifted, healed, comforted and guided each member through his or her daily life.
